The Sophia Center for Life Studies - Crossings Care Community - of Central North Carolina

As an initiative of The Sophia Center for Life Studies and in support of Crossings work, the Crossings Care Community of Central North Carolina (CCC) was started in 2003. The primary focus of The Sophia Center for Life Studies and CCC is the education, consultation, and community building around dying and natural after-death care.

The mission of the Sophia Center for Life Studies is to create a learning/service community in the Triad area of North Carolina based on the evolving insights from the diverse spiritual practices and beliefs of our individual members. Drawing upon a threefold imagination of the human being as body, soul and spirit, the Center offers programs that seek to educate the head, heart and hand. The Center provides education and experiences designed to support the needs, potentials and questions of individuals, wherever they find themselves on life’s developmental path. In all of its endeavors, the Center strives to encourage a reverence of the life journey of the human being, the earth and the cosmos.

As much as possible and at its best, natural after-death care is:
Minimal
Non-invasive
Family-centered; and,
Honors individual choices
